About CricBook
Booking an indoor court in Sri Lanka usually means calling a number you found on Facebook, hoping someone picks up, and taking their word that the 7pm slot is free. Half the time it isn’t — the venue’s diary and whoever answered the phone disagreed.
CricBook exists to fix that from both ends. Players see real availability and book in under a minute. Venues get a system that handles how they actually work — cash on arrival, walk-ins, regulars who always take Tuesday at eight — instead of one that only counts the bookings that arrive online.
What we do differently
We handle cash. Most of this market pays in cash, and a platform that ignores that is extra work for a venue rather than less. Owners record cash and walk-in bookings in the same place as online ones, so the calendar is right no matter how the money arrived.
Double-bookings are impossible. Every court is tracked separately and the database physically refuses to hold the same court twice for the same slot. It is a guarantee, not a warning message.
We verify venues before we feature them. We speak to venues and check the details before we mark them verified, and we publish what a player actually needs to know — the surface, the parking, whether the AC works — not a list of icons.
How we make money
We take a commission on bookings we bring a venue. Players pay the price the venue sets — we don’t mark it up, and we don’t charge you to search. Venues pay nothing to list and nothing monthly.
Who we are
CricBook was founded by Sudewa Perera, a lifelong cricket enthusiast who experienced the frustration of booking indoor courts firsthand. Based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, we are a small team building for the grounds we grew up playing on.
